Harvard Summer School in Zanzibar

 Hello Safari Moto Moto!

Back on the continent in Zanzibar along with 11 students and several professors from Harvard. To hear how it is going and what we are up to- here is a page with all the students' blogs: http://isites.harvard.edu/icb/icb.do?keyword=k87144&tabgroupid=icb.tabgroup144285.
These three pictures are from the ruins of an ancient palace where Sultan Barghash kept his wife and 99 concubines. The palace was burned in 1899 but the remains make for an interesting and beautiful site to visit. Just steps away you will find people building dhows and repairing boats.

This final picture is from my last trip to Zanzibar when I was scoping out the island for the program. Sunset down by the forodhani (outdoor garden/eating area) is not to be missed.
