I arrived in Nairobi to be met by the famous Dr. Mungai, who brought me back to his traditional mud-thatch hut in Kikuyuland..
Just kidding! He lives in a 70s style mansion on a rose farm (see pics below) and i've been totally taken care of and allowed to run around among the roses. Its been great. The bathrooms are somehow the most reminiscent of the 70s, with incredible orange bathtubs and the most wonderful old-school decor. In the meantime, I found a terrific little apartment in an area called Kibagare, which no one seems to have heard of (this may very well be due to my own mis-pronunciation). I'll post pictures of it soon.
